The Zillertalbahn Connects

The Zillertalbahn is the lovely steam train starting in Jenbach, the important traffic hub at the start of the Zillertal valley, and takes you all the way along the Zillertal to the beautiful village of Mayrhofen. See the entire valley of the Zillertal while enjoying the comfortable ride.

The lovely steam train is not only an efficient way to travel in the Zillertal, it also encourages a sense of nostalgia. It reminds us of the excitement our grandparents may have felt while embarking on an exciting journey on a steam train.

Rattenberg - Austria's Smallest City

The beautiful city of Rattenberg is first mentioned in records in 1254 and was granted city privileges in 1393. This quaint city is one of the few cities in Europe with a medieval city centre and, due to the lack of changes over the years, still has a distinct medieval feel to it.

The glass manufacture tradition of Rattenberg dates back to the 19th century. The specialists in glass finishing settled here due to the proximity to the glass foundry in Kramsach, which has a 300-year-old tradition. This important tradition is still prevalent in the city of Rattenberg today and keeps the tradition of being "Tyrol's city of glass" alive and well.
